Aid for Aids
AIDS is the leading cause of death and low life expectancy in Africa. In Zambia, where Michael Kelly SJ worked with people suffering from AIDS, the life expectancy is 37 years. Even a small donation could make a huge difference and with the right political will, the problem could be controlled. Yet often we are so wrapped up in our own lives that we simply don’t give as much as we could. Miriam Gormally asked Michael Kelly, whether people in developed countries were tired and frustrated hearing about AIDS and what will make us realise that the problem desperately needs our attention. She first asked him about his own involvement with the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
