In Search of the Pope’s Children was a popular documentary that went out on RTE last year, where economist David McWilliams, tracks Ireland’s successful young entrepreneurs.  McWilliams claims that Pope John Paul II’s visit to Ireland in 1979 coincided with a baby boom, which peaked nine months after the visit. He calls these people “The Pope’s Children” and looks at their new-found sophistication.   Ian Poulton met David McWilliams and asked him whether “The Pope’s Children” had any spiritual values.
