On Monday June 16th, Social Justice Ireland, who advocate for a sustainable future for every member in society, launched a policy briefing on budget options for 2015. Their briefing showed that the government can protect public services, make the tax system fairer, provide investment for Ireland’s social infrastructure and reduce Government borrowing below 3% GDP. “Having already faced several years of austerity, where the bottom ten percent have been hardest hit, it is time to change direction,” said Michelle Murphy from Social Justice Ireland. Miriam Gormally met with Michelle to see how this could be achieved.
