Soul Waves radio will be once again exploring archive piece for the month of August. Here are a selection of pieces from 2005.

Pope JohnPaul II has been considered quite radical in social areas but quite conservative in areas regarding women and sexual morality. Gina Menzies talks about Pope John Paul and his very contradictory views, from his apology to women for historical injustices to them by the Catholic Church to his reluctance to change any policy in relation to women. She shares her opinion on why he was like this and how he may have been influenced by his sad childhood and his great sense of ‘mission’ throughout his life.
