There are so many varying memories of the life and work of the late Pope John Paul II. David Bircall talked to the leading theologian, Ann Thurston, about her memories of the Pope. She talks about his early years, his happiness and handsomeness. She looks at his role in ecumenism – especially his work on the Jewish / Christian question and with Eastern religions. She also discusses John Paul’s approach to lay people and the hierarchy, youth and people’s rights.
