Volunteering

As more people are being made redundant or being offered packages to take time off, many people are looking at volunteering as an option towards building a new career. Siobhan McGee carried out a report on charity organisations in Ireland and found that the recession was affecting them in several ways. Some benefited from the increase of volunteers, others were hit by loss of income, but all had increased demands on their service. Miriam Gormally asked Siobhan to explain more about the report.
