Every vocation has its own story. Pat Davis SJ recently celebrated 20 years of ministry with the Jesuits. His vocation was an unexpected one. At the suggestion of a friend, he made a spur of the moment decision to go to a ‘come and see’ type event with the Jesuits in Mongret, Limerick. The friend was thinking of becoming a Jesuit, Pat hadn’t the slightest notion of it. Pat ended up joining, his friend did not. He says the providence of God was at work and asked to summarise his ministry, he says, “in a word – wonderful.” He explains more of his vocation journey to Pat Coyle and how being a Jesuit has also given him an understanding into the philosophy and outlook of Pope Francis.
