January Blues

In this piece from 2007, Miriam looked at how people can deal with the January Blue.

They looked at how after all the Christmas festivities finish, there is often a feeling of anticlimax in January. Nowhere is this more obvious than in a university.  Miriam Gormally met Fr Tony Coote, who was the then chaplain for UCD and one of the founders of “Please Talk”. Fr Coote died in 2019 of Motor Neurone Disease, but lives on in the 700,000 euro that he raised for research into this disease. He was a man who always found hope in adversity. Miriam first asked Tony why they launched the “Please Talk” campaign.
